How this works
YouTube does not publish any channel's monetization status, so no outside tool can read it. What is public are the Partner Program's entry numbers. We read the channel's subscriber count and upload dates from the YouTube Data API and set them against those thresholds. That is the verdict.
We also try up to three recent long-form videos and look for the markers the player uses to schedule ads, and we show what we find. It does not change the verdict. YouTube Help says ads may appear on videos even when the channel is not in the Partner Program, so ads seen do not show that a channel is paid. Ads not seen, or a page YouTube refused to serve to our server, show nothing either. YouTube often refuses those pages to servers and asks for a sign-in, so a page only counts when it is a real player page.
Watch hours and Shorts views are not public, so that row always says "Not visible". The confidence score is our confidence in the status shown, not in YouTube's private decision. Results are cached for 24 hours and timestamped.
Frequently asked questions
Can you check whether any YouTube channel is monetized?
Not with certainty, and no outside tool can: YouTube does not publish Partner Program status. This checker shows whether the channel meets the public entry numbers and, when YouTube lets us see it, whether ads are serving on recent videos. Paste a channel handle, a channel URL or a video URL.
How accurate is this YouTube monetization checker?
The subscriber and upload numbers are exact public data. The verdict built on them is an estimate: meeting the public numbers does not mean the channel joined the program, because watch hours are private and it also has to apply and be approved. Ads seen on a video only show that ads are serving on it: YouTube Help says ads may appear on videos from channels outside the Partner Program. So ads seen or not seen never raise or lower the verdict.
Does it work for YouTube Shorts?
Partly. Shorts are paid from a separate revenue pool and their pages carry no per-video ad marker, so we skip them when looking for ads. The subscriber and upload numbers still apply, so a Shorts-only channel still gets an eligibility verdict.
Why do watch hours show as "Not visible"?
Watch hours and Shorts views are only shown to the channel owner in YouTube Studio. Anyone else, including this tool, can only see subscribers, video counts and upload dates.
What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements?
The full tier needs 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million public Shorts views in the last 90 days. The early tier needs 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views. Requirements change, so confirm them on YouTube's Partner Program page.
How do I check my own channel's monetization status?
Open YouTube Studio and go to the Earn tab. It shows whether you are in the Partner Program, how close you are to the thresholds, and your real watch hours, which no outside tool can see.
Why does it say it could not verify ads?
YouTube often asks servers to sign in before showing a video page, and we do not work around that. When it happens we cannot read the ad markers, so the row says so and the verdict rests on the public numbers alone. The same channel can be verifiable one time and refused the next.
