Are the Monetization Checker and Shadowban Checker results official YouTube decisions?
No. YouTube does not publish either status through any public API. These two tools show public signals, a confidence score, and a disclosed methodology instead of presenting an estimate as certainty. Treat them as directional, not definitive.
Why did a tool return a different result than last time?
Results are cached for a fixed window (6–24 hours depending on the tool) to reduce repeat API calls. A changed result usually means the cache expired and the underlying public data changed since the last check — not that the tool is unreliable.
Do you store the URLs or handles I check?
Tool inputs are used to run the lookup and are cached temporarily under a key derived from the channel/video ID — not tied to who submitted them. There is no account system, so nothing is linked to an identity. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Why am I being asked to complete a verification check?
Server-backed tools are protected by relaxed, IP-based rate limiting plus Cloudflare Turnstile for unusually high-volume traffic — this keeps the shared YouTube API quota available for everyone. Normal usage should never trigger it; any restriction is temporary and time-limited, never a permanent block.
Is YTDetective affiliated with YouTube or Google?
No. YTDetective is an independent project built against YouTube’s public Data API and public pages. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
Do I need an account to use the tools?
No. There are no accounts, logins, or payment tiers. Every tool works immediately with no sign-up.
Why doesn’t the Money Calculator need a channel lookup?
It’s a pure client-side calculation based on the view count, country, and niche you enter — nothing is sent to our servers or to YouTube, and it costs zero API quota.
How often are new blog articles published?
There is no fixed schedule: we publish a guide when we can back it with official sources or our own data. Every guide lists the pages it relies on and the date we read them, and you can report an error from any article.
