How this works

The audit pulls the channel's most recent public uploads (up to 50) via the YouTube Data API and computes every stat below from that set — it is not a full upload history, and the methodology says so explicitly rather than implying more coverage than it has.

Outlier score is each video's views divided by the channel's median views across the analyzed set. A score of 1.0 is typical for that channel; higher means the video overperformed its own baseline, lower means it underperformed — the comparison is always against the channel itself, never against other channels.

Engagement rate is (likes + comments) ÷ views, averaged per video. Channels that hide their like counts will show a lower or missing rate — that is a data-availability limitation, not a claim about actual engagement.

The confidence score reflects how much of the analyzed set had usable public stats, and is capped lower for small samples (fewer than 10 recent uploads) where cadence and engagement patterns are less reliable.
