How this works

Paste a video link or ID. The tool reads the video's title and description from the YouTube Data API (one unit of quota) and parses them on our side. Nothing is guessed from the audio, the comments or the video itself.

A hashtag is a “#” followed by letters, numbers or underscores, and it needs at least one letter, so “#1” is not one. YouTube shows the first three above the video title, highlighted here, and ignores all of a video’s hashtags if there are more than 60.

Chapters are the description lines that start with a timestamp, like “0:00 Intro”. The list passes the check when it starts at 0:00, has at least three chapters, is in ascending order and every chapter is at least 10 seconds long. A time mentioned mid-sentence is not counted.

Passing the check means the description follows the rules YouTube documents. YouTube decides whether it shows chapters, and creators can also switch automatic chapters on or off, so this cannot promise how the video looks on YouTube.

These are hashtags written in the text. The hidden tags that creators add in YouTube Studio are a different thing: use the Tag Extractor for those.
