Terms of Use

Using the tools
YTDetective's tools are provided free of charge for looking up public YouTube information: channel IDs, video metadata, tags, thumbnails, and estimated signals for monetization, shadowban likelihood, and earnings. No account is required. By using the site, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and not to attempt to disrupt, overload, or circumvent its rate limits or abuse protections.
Estimates, not official YouTube data
Where a result comes directly from the YouTube Data API (channel IDs, tags, video statistics, thumbnails), it reflects what YouTube's public API returns at the time of the request. Where a tool discloses a confidence score and methodology — the Monetization Checker, Shadowban Checker, and Money Calculator — the result is a directional estimate based on public signals, not an official YouTube determination. Do not treat these estimates as a substitute for YouTube's own Creator Studio or Partner Program communications about your channel.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. YouTube's API, public page structure, and availability can change at any time and may affect result accuracy or tool availability. We work to catch and disclose breakage quickly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Rate limits and abuse protection
To keep the service available for everyone within YouTube's API quota limits, we apply relaxed per-IP rate limiting and may require a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge for unusually high-volume traffic. We do not permanently ban IP addresses; any temporary restriction has a fixed, limited duration.
Limitation of liability
We are not liable for decisions made based on tool results, including estimates of monetization status, shadowban likelihood, or ad revenue. These are informational tools, not financial or legal advice.
Changes
We may update these terms as the tools change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
