Cookie Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the small preferences button in the corner of the screen, or the button below.
Strictly necessary
A small number of cookies (and, for our rate limiter, IP-keyed entries in our Redis store — not a browser cookie) are required for the site to function: keeping the abuse-protection system working, remembering your cookie preferences, and completing Cloudflare Turnstile checks when they're required. These cannot be disabled, since the site can't function securely without them.
Analytics
When enabled, we use two analytics services to understand how the site is used. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-friendly and does not use cross-site tracking cookies or build an advertising profile. Google Analytics 4 sets its own cookies (such as _ga) and sends usage data to Google. Both are off by default and only run after you opt in through the preferences panel; if you opt out later, they stop measuring. We use them for site statistics only, not for advertising.
Advertising
YTDetective shows ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are off until you opt in through the preferences panel: before that, no advertising script is loaded and nothing is sent to Google for ads. After you opt in, Google and its partners may set cookies and use identifiers to show and measure ads (and, where allowed, to personalize them); you can withdraw consent at any time and the ad script stops loading on your next page view. See Google's advertising policies for how Google handles this data.
Changing your choice
You can open the preferences panel at any time using the button above or the floating icon on any page, and change or withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it.
